Dipavali is a festival of light and Dipavali means row of lamps(deepon ki avail). Diya is basically an earthen lamp. Diyas adorn every corner of the house on this very auspicious day and add fervor to the festive spirit which is accompanied by a number of delicacies to gorge on, bright and new clothes to wear, splash rangoli on the floor and above all a time for families and friends to get together.
Take the earthen lamps or diyas.( you can soak them in water for some time so that they absorb less color and look more beautiful)
Paint it with any color of your choice and then let it dry.
Now you can decorate it the way you want to. Here I have decorated using stones of very small size on the circumference of the diya.
For this, decorate the outer side using mirrors and the inner side using glitters. And let it dry.
This is more of a crafted diya, paint the inner side with green sparkle color and the border with pink sparkle color and the outer with golden color. And the diya is ready. Let it dry.
This is a basically a diya stand to make your diya look even more beautiful. This can be made using a CD. Take a CD and cover it with a black sheet then make this kind of design on it and color with glitter tube then you can decorate it with mirrors, stones or the way you like it.
