Dark under eyes can be due to iron deficiencies , stress , bad sleeping regime , excess sun exposure, scratching the eyes.
Dark circles can be hidden using concealers or under eye cream. But this is not a permanent solution. Given below are few things you can do to get rid of the dark under eyes.
- Taking a iron rich diet is very important. Also vitamins and minerals help in curing dark circles. Broccoli, spinach , basil leaves, prunes, coriander leaves, spring onion can help a lot.
- Good sleep (beauty sleep) plays a vital role as well.
- Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
- Take 2tbsp of lemon juice. Grate cucumber and extract the juice from it. Mix 2tbsp of cucumber juice. Soak a cotton ball in the mixture. Place it on the closed eyes and leave it for 10mins. Then wash off with water. This will help a lot repeat the process daily until it totally vanishes.
- Almond oil also helps in getting rid of dark under eyes. Take 2 teaspoon of almond oil and 2 teaspoon of honey. Apply the mixture on the affected area and leave it overnight. Rinse it with normal water in the morning. Do this for few days and you’ll notice the changes.
- Take 2 teaspoons, refrigerate them so that they get chilled and place them on the under eyes for couple of minutes or wrap ice cubes in a soft cloth and place it on the under eyes for 2-3 mins. Repeat the process number of times until you see visible results. This method is called cold compress.
- Steep tea bags in hot water for 1 minute, then refrigerate until cool. Place over your eyes for 10 to 20 minutes. Chamomile tea is best because it is anti – inflammatory properties , you can also use green tea.
